Portworkers, who downed tools on Tuesday, were not allowed on the job site by management at Stevedoring Services this morning, on the Hamilton Docks, where work relations are said to be tense as the dispute continues.
Bermuda Real and TNN understands the dispute centres around an incident, involving two workers, that happened off the job, which is now the subject of a case in court.
One of the workers involved in that case is the son of Bermuda Industrial Union President Chris Furbert.
Reports reaching TNN and Bermuda Real indicate that the workers downed tools in support of Chris Furbert Jr, which has pitted one set of workers against the other on the job.
No official word on the dispute yet, we’ll keep you posted.
