Police are investigating a reported sexual assault that occurred in the area of Fairylands Road junction on Pitts Bay Road in Pembroke.

The female victim told police that she was sexually assaulted at knifepoint by a man who attacked her around 7am on Sunday, September 20, as she made her way to work.

Fortunately, the assault was thwarted by a passerby who called the police.

The suspect fled the scene on a red motorcycle with the license plate covered, riding north along Pitts Bay Road.

Police are now appealing for anyone who may have seen a male riding a red motorcycle with the license plate covered, in the Pitts Bay Road, Pembroke area shortly after 7am on Sunday, to contact the Crime Division on 247-1340, the main police number, 295-0011 or the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers number, 800-8477.

They are also appealing for area residents with CCTV cameras, to review the footage on their devices for any suspicious activity, including footage of a male riding a red motorcycle with the license plate covered to contact police.
