As first reported by TNN tonight, the Bermuda Police Service (BPS) has confirmed the arrest and interview of a 26-year-old woman last week, in connection with an event held at BLU Restaurant on July 3rd, 2020.

According to the BPS, no further details will be released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.

You may recall that a local charity dinner was hosted by the Zarabi Entertainment Group on July 3rd at the Blu Bar & Grill.

Part of the released statement by the organisers at that point in time said the event received permission from the Ministry of National Security.

The event was officially published in the Official Gazette as a sit down dinner where all guests were seated at their tables for the majority of the night with the guests serenaded by a saxophonist as they were leaving.

As a result of video footage that was linked on the local social media circuit within hours after the event, Premier David Burt took immediate action and fired two Ministers namely Wayne Caines, the former Minister of National Security and Zane DeSilva, the former Minister of Tourism and Transport, who both were in attendance at the event.

Still no word, or confirmation on just who was arrested by police – we’ll keep you posted.
