Members of a visiting delegation from Turks and Caicos Islands will be greeted in the House of Assembly on Friday morning by Speaker of the House, Dennis Lister, when the proceedings get underway on Budget Day 2020.
Led by the Premier of the Turks & Caicos Islands Sharlene Cartwright-Robinson, the delegation is visiting Bermuda “to study approaches taken to tackling gang violence, reduction and intervention”.
A Government spokesperson said: “Premier David Burt welcomed his colleague the Premier of the Turks & Caicos Islands Sharlene Cartwright-Robinson.”

Governor John Rankin and Deputy Governor Alison Crocket also met with the Premier of TCI, along with members of her Government, at Government House on Thursday.

The Governor said, “It was a pleasure to meet Premier Cartwright-Robinson and to welcome her to Bermuda. The links between Bermuda and the Turks & Caicos Islands are important from both a historical and present-day perspective.”

 The delegation is expected to meet Speaker of the House Dennis Lister Jr and briefly attend the House of Assembly, when Finance Minister Curtis Dickinson will make his Budget Statement.
The Minister will also deliver ‘The 2019 National Economic Report’ on Friday morning.
The Premier is also scheduled to provide written responses to the following parliamentary questions deferred from July 2019, from Opposition Leader Craig Cannonier:
1) Notwithstanding, the responses provided to questions by the Honourable Premier on July 12, 2019; will the Honourable Premier please advise this Honourable House if any Members of Parliament have been paid from the public purse for any services, other than Government Committees, Government Boards or Quangos?
2) Will the Honourable Premier please identify for this Honourable House the Members of Parliament and the amounts paid or the outstanding amounts due to them?
National Security Minister Wayne Caines is also scheduled to provide written responses to parliamentary questions from Deputy Speaker Derrick Burgess, who asked:
1) Will the Honourable Minister please provide to this Honourable House a complete list of the number of officers of the Bermuda Police Service on sick leave during the period of April 1, 2018 to January 31, 2020; including the total number of days taken?
2) Will the Honourable Minister please provide to this Honourable House a complete list of the number of officers of the Bermuda Police Service on paid leave due to disciplinary suspension or court cases during the period of April 1, 2018 to January 31, 2020; including the total number of days taken?
3) Will the Honourable Minister please advise this Honourable House of the total cost to the Government of Bermuda for the paid leave to officers of the Bermuda Police Service during the period of April 1, 2018 to January 31, 2020?
Orders of the Day include the Second Reading of the ‘Criminal Injuries (Compensation) Amendment Act 2019’,  the Second Reading of the ‘Digital Asset Issuance Act 2020′ and the ‘Land Valuation and Tax Amendment Act 2020′.
