News Release: HAMILTON, Bermuda – On August 17, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) upgraded the travel Health Advisory Notice for Bermuda from Level 3 to Level 2, due to COVID-19.The COVID-19 risk in Bermuda is moderate, however, the CDC recommends travellers to Bermuda practice enhanced precautions.
On August 6, 2020, in close coordina#on with the CDC, the Department of State lifted the Global Level 4 Health Advisory, which was initially put in place on March 19, advising U.S. citizens to avoid international travel. The lifting of the Global Level 4 Health Advisory precipitated a return to individual country travel advisories.
In the case of Bermuda, the country was upgraded to a Travel Advisory Level 3, which currently stands under the Department of State’s Global Travel Advisory. As conditions evolve, the Department of State will regularly update advice to US travellers.
All US citizens are advised to read country specific Travel Advisories and US Embassy and Consulate COVID-19 pages for updates on the impact of the virus worldwide. We continue to recommend US citizens exercise caution when travelling abroad due to the unpredictable nature of the pandemic.
