News Release: Hamilton, Bermuda – The US Consulate and the Bermuda National Library will host a screening of ‘Stonewall Uprising’ to highlight LGBTI Pride Month and the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising on Tuesday, June 25 at 6pm at the National Library.

The movie explores events surrounding the three-day protest by members of the LGBT community following a police raid at the Stonewall Inn at Greenwich Village, Manhattan on June 28, 1969. In this American Experience documentary, those who took part in the historic event share their story and describe what essentially led to a worldwide human rights movement that remains relevant today.

Pride Month is celebrated in countries all over the world throughout the month of June where communities advocate for promoting, protecting and advancing human rights, including the rights and inclusion of the LGBTI community.

Admission is free. Due to limited seating, guests will be accommodated on a first come, first serve basis.
