Police are investigating another weekend road traffic accident involving a 76-year-old pedestrian, who sustained chest and pelvic injuries, when he was struck by a female motorcyclist, just east of Lindo’s on Middle Road in Warwick around 9am Saturday morning.
A police spokesman said the rider of the motorcycle sustained a head injury and received stitches to her lips and chin. At last check, the 28-year-old female was expected to be discharged from King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
The 76-year-old pedestrian sustained serious chest and pelvic injuries and was due to be admitted on a general ward.
Traffic was being diverted while officers processed the scene of the collision. And the police appeal continues for witnesses to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 295-0011.
