Two children were injured in a serious road traffic accident involving a car and a pedal cycle yesterday (Mar 26) near the junction of Brighton Hill Road and Brighton Lane in Devonshire.

Police say the accident occurred shortly after 7pm.

A spokesman said: “Reports are the 13-year-old male pedal bike rider, suffered abrasions to his knees and hands and his 7-year-old male pillion passenger suffered a suspected broken leg.

““They were both transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for further treatment for those injuries. The male driver of the motorcar was unhurt.”

The scene was closed off to vehicular traffic while traffic collision investigators and officers from the forensics support unit processed the scene.
