Motorists were advised of more lane closures throughout the month of June, where several roads will be reduced to one lane traffic.

Both lanes from the junction at Collectors Hill with Cotswold Lane to South Road, and the Rotisserie Grill parking lot to the bus lay-bys near Cloverdale Road will be affected.

The Ministry of Public Works said the closures would facilitate milling and paving in the area from June 13.

Work will be carried out between 7.30am and 5pm, with the finish date set down for June 28.

Drivers were urged to use alternative routes via Tee Street, Brighton Hill Road and Devon Springs Lane in the west and St Mark’s Road and Sayle Road in the east.

“Motorists that traverse through this junction should expect delays and must travel with care,” a Ministry spokesperson added.

“Visitors to the Apothecary, Speciality Inn, MarketPlace and Rotisserie Grill will need to park in the designated parking areas and will be able to have access via Ap Owen Road or Marketplace driveway.”

It was also noted that the westbound lane on North Shore Road in Hamilton Parish, near Coney Island Road, will be closed starting on Monday.

This closure will allow a fence to be repaired along the North Shore Road bend.

The work will be carried out between 8am and 3pm and is scheduled to be finished by Wednesday.

As a result, the eastbound lane on Harrington Sound Road near Walsingham Lane in Hamilton Parish will be closed to repair a fence in the area beginning on June 6.

Work will be done from 8am to 3pm and is scheduled to finish by June 10.

Any questions about these lane closures should be directed to the Principal Highways Engineer at the Ministry, Tina Beer-Searle on 501-3044.

The Ministry also encouraged the public’s cooperation during the closures and apologised for any inconvenience that may result.
