Three men remain in police custody following their arrest at the airport’s private jet terminal on suspicion of drug offences committed this past weekend.
Police say the arrests were the end result of a joint operation between the police drugs unit and Customs officers that was carried out on Saturday.
A spokesman said: “Earlier that evening two local men entered the island on a private jet with multiple pieces of luggage that were believed to contain controlled drugs.
“Those arrested remain in custody pending the outcome of investigations and consultation with the Director of Public Prosecutions.
“The Bermuda Police Service remains committed to working with its partners in law enforcement, both locally and overseas, to stem the flow of illegal drugs into Bermuda.”
