Magistrate Juan Wolffe released a third man alleged to have been involved in a brutal assault that left another young man badly beaten and set on fire on $25,000 bail on Monday.
Justin Cameron, 24, of Pembroke, was formally charged in Magistrates’ Court with causing grievous bodily harm to Jamar Malik and depriving him of his liberty on September 9 in Pembroke.
The indictable offence will go to the Supreme Court to be heard by a judge and jury.
The defendant’s co-defendants, Jahni Holder, 24, and Ayinde Eve, 25, both from Pembroke, were charged and remanded in custody last week until the November arraignments session.
Senior Magistrate Juan Wolffe ordered Mr Cameron to have no contact with the alleged victim or members of the jury, with orders to report to the Hamilton Police Station three times a week, adhere to a 6pm-to-6am curfew, wear an electronic monitoring device and to stay in residence.
He was also ordered to return to the Supreme Court in November for the arraignments session.
