A third cruise ship passenger has been arrested by police in connection with a violent beating that has left two teenaged males in hospital with serious head injuries.

The incident occurred near the pharmacy in Dockyard around 3am on Friday, after the theft of jewellery from one of the three passengers involved in the fight that ensued. All three passengers are reportedly from Brooklyn, New York.

A police spokesman said today, a third male has been arrested. He is the nephew of the brother and sister already in custody. All three remain in custody and are due to appear in Magistrates’ court on Tuesday. The ship they arrived here on left the island yesterday.

Meanwhile, the two teens, one 19-years-old and the other 17-years-old, remain in hospital with serious head and facial injuries.

Video of the incident began circulating via social media yesterday and prompted a slew of comments. The police spokesman said: “That footage will play a role in the investigation.”
