The US Consulate issued a public advisory this week, encouraging all of those in need of routine consular services, including the renewal of visas and US passports, to schedule appointments as soon as possible to avoid potential delays in service due to ongoing construction on the premises.
A spokesperson said: “Construction is underway on the Consulate grounds and is soon expected to impact the Consular Section.
“During this time, our ability to provide routine consular services will be significantly reduced. We encourage those in need of routine consular services to book appointments online as soon as possible. Our ability to provide emergency services will not be impacted.”
Appointments may be scheduled online via the US Consulate’s website, or to apply for a visa or US citizen services.
