News Release: HAMILTON, Bermuda – The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists and pedestrians that Marsh Folly Road between Cedar Avenue and Black Watch Pass will undergo rock cut repair works.
The repair works will commence today, Sunday, May 14th, and will be ongoing until Friday, June 2nd, 2023.
The repair work will require a temporary road closure to be followed by a lane closure. The temporary road and lane closures shall only commence during construction working hours from 7am through to 6pm daily. Thereafter the road will be reopened for night and early morning traffic.
The works will require a temporary road closure for Sunday, May 14th, 2023 through Wednesday, May 17th, 2023.
A temporary lane closure for the eastbound lane from Thursday, May 18th, 2023 through Monday, May 29th, 2023.
Followed by a final temporary road closure on Tuesday, May 30th, 2023.
Motorists are advised to use Canal Road, Dutton Avenue, Black Watch Pass, Langton Hill, and North Shore Road for detour routes. The bus stops & sidewalk along Marsh Folly Road at this location will be closed.
Bus Passengers are advised to use alternative bus stops along Cedar Avenue and the Saltus School bus stop on St John’s Road.
Traffic control will be managed by Barclays Construction representatives through cones, barricades and stop and go signs.
The Ministry encourages the full cooperation of the public and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result.
As works progresses and it is safe to do so, the MPW will open the sidewalk and shoulder area for the Bermuda Day Race on May 26th, 2023.
