A group of 37 summer students took on summer employment this week within various sections of the Ministry of Public Works, as part of a joint initiative with the Department of Workforce Development.
High school and college students were greeted by the Minister, Lieutenant-Colonel David Burch, who discussed career development opportunities in their specific areas of interest.
The students will work in Estates, Works and Engineering, Parks, the Bermuda Housing Corporation and the West End Development Corporation.
Colonel Burch also encouraged them and said the Ministry will offer them a chance to “showcase their talents” and help them reach their full potential.
Orientation for this set of students in the Government Summer Internship Programme was held on Monday.
