Mirror Online: LONDON, England – Two young girls aged just two and three have been rushed to hospital after being mauled by a dog.

A graphic video – which Birmingham Live has decided not to publish – shows the dog launching upon the girls and a woman, pining them to the ground close to a wall.

Piercing screams can be heard as the woman tries to fight off the out-of-control beast as it drags one of the girl’s around like a rag doll in its mouth.

A passing motorists stops and people rush out of their homes to help.

One man from a car tries to prize the child away from the jaws of the dog and kicks at it as it fights back.

The dog circles and the two girls are placed in the car for their safety.

The woman and two young girls were walking when the dog spotted them.

Brave by-standers use wheelie bins to try to defend themselves against the animal.

Shouts of ‘stop, stop’ and ‘the police are on their way, everyone get inside where it is safe’, can be heard.

The dog continues to roam around, standing in the middle of the road.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said it received five calls regarding the vicious attack.

The girls couldn’t get away

An ambulance service spokesman said: “We had multiple calls reporting a dog attack on two young girls on St Saviours Road in the Saltley area of Birmingham at around 12.35pm this lunchtime.

“An ambulance was immediately sent to the scene.

“They were both assessed and treated at the scene before being taken on blue lights to Birmingham Children’s Hospital where medics were awaiting their arrival.
“Their condition is not life threatening. FYI after much thought, and seeing this is becoming a cause for concern with dogs attacking children etc. I’ve decided in the next few weeks I along with others will be campaigning for a change in the law, I will be getting a petition sorted in due course I’m hoping the media will help get our message across.
You may all NOT agree with me like others on here? I’ve read many of the comments on my post and many seem against all dogs kept on a leash in public? So a compromise at best would be ALL dogs must be muzzled in a public instead, that way if a dog or dogs turns on anyone, or anything, at least being muzzled will be a better and safer protection for all, this seems the best move in helping protect other dogs and people.

I will make the Petition know on various media channels when I’ve posted it.

What I posted earlier with some changes after reading all the reply’s to what I’ve mentioned.

If the Mirror, or anyone is reading this, I think it’s high time for a petition making it NOW Mandatory that all dogs should be kept on leases, and be muzzled in ANY outdoor public spaces at anytime?

This is becoming out of control dogs are pack hunters and a mans best friend but irresponsible owners are giving all dog breeds a bad name. We know that all dogs need to be microchipped by law, but it’s NOT enough.

The law needs to change.

I hope those poor little girls will be ok, wishing them speedy recovery.

I got attacked by a Labrador of all things whilst walking in the woods looking at my phone. There was no obvious trigger to it. It’s owner was useless skipping around trying to belatedly put its lead on, with no stop command to get control.

I think there have always been some poor owners but maybe some dogs are suffering during lockdown just like their owners.

I hope these kids are alright. They’ll probably be scared around dogs for a long time.A black lab tried to attack me and my disabled son, we walked backwards slowly and it stood still we managed somehow to back into the play area of the park and we got up on the slide until it ran off. The park can be a scary place even as a dog owner with large dogs running about you never know for certain what they will do. All dogs should be on leads it’s safer that
