News Release: Hamilton, Bermuda –
Staff and students at Saltus have raised more than $10,000 to help the victims or Hurricane Dorian.
“It was a fantastic effort from everyone,” said Deputy Head Nicole Chichon.
“In Bermuda we understand how devastating hurricanes can be and many of our staff and students approached me asking if there was something they could do to help.”
The school held a grub day last Monday (Sept 9) to raise the money which will be given to HeadKowles, a grassroots Bahamian organization that is coordinating hurricane relief efforts for a number of Bahamian NGOs.
Ms Chichon added: “This is one of the largest amounts we have raised through a grub day and I think that shows how everyone feels about this disaster.”
HeadKnowles was founded by Lia Head and Gina Knowles and raised more than $2m in relief funds for Hurricane Joaquin relief in 2015 and in 2016, they established a commi7ed group of volunteers to assist people devastated during Hurricane Ma7hew which hit The Bahamas.
