Staff and students at Saltus this morning paid tribute to two alums who died in the 9/11 attack, in New York City on that fateful day on September 11, in 2001.
Boyd Gatton and Robert Higley, both former Saltus students, died when two hijacked planes hit the World Trade Centre’s twin towers 18 years ago.
Another Bermudian, Rhondelle Tankard will be honoured this evening at a special concert at Warwick Academy.
At the place where plaques were placed in their memory, a wreath was laid by the school’s Head Girl and Head Boy.
The Saltus flag was also lowered to half-mast and a minutes silence was observed.
Head of School, Deryn Lavell said: “It is right and proper that we continue to observe this day and ensure that Boyd and Robert are not forgotten by the Saltus community.”
