Bermuda Real is receiving reports that the first road traffic accident involving one of the new rental mini-cars occurred this afternoon, on or near Watford Bridge in Dockyard.
There’s no word yet on whether or not injuries were sustained, or whether it was a single vehicle accident, or more than one vehicle was involved. Reports indicate that the collision occurred shortly after 12pm today.
When contacted, a police spokesman said he has not received official confirmation yet. A statement may be pending later today.
Legislation facilitating mini-car rentals in Bermuda was passed in December last year, amid concerns regarding road safety of the two-seater, four-wheeled vehicles compared to rental livery cycles.
