NY Daily News: MANHATTAN, NY – Whitney Houston’s tragic death at age 48 shocked the music world to its core. The singer was found in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles on February 11, 2012, the eve of music’s biggest night, the 2012 Grammy Awards. The official cause of death was accidental drowning “and effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use”, according to the cororner’s office.

Whitney Houston, with her famously soulful voice, is remembered today as one of the world’s best-selling music artists, with 200 million records sold worldwide. The ‘I Will Always Love You’ singer has even been named the most awarded female artist by Guinness World Records.
