A record 401 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered between 10am and 2pm on Sunday (May 23) at the Transport Control Department.

A Ministry spokeswoman said: “There were 240 first doses and 161 second doses administered.

“This is, by far, the largest number of people to participate in the programme in one day. 1,723 people have gotten a first and second shot of the vaccine through the mobile programme,” she added.

Premier David Burt, who visited the site, said: “The way that we move past the pandemic and move beyond the pandemic, as the Government has set out, is vaccination and continuing to make sure we move forward as a country.

“My heart is full and I’m overwhelmed by the response from the Bermuda community.”

The next Close To Home COVID-19 vaccination location will be at Open Door Christian Assembly in St David’s on Tuesday, May 25 from 10am – 2pm.
