Public Works Minister Colonel David Burch will hold a news conference at 10am Wednesday morning to update residents with the latest on garbage collection delays now in its second week.
In a statement issued this evening, a Ministry spokesperson said the Ministry “takes this opportunity to apologise to the public for the delays currently being experienced with the weekly garbage collection.
“It is expected that the delays will continue this week,” she said. And the public is advised that the Minister “will provide a full update” tomorrow morning “regarding the current situation and steps being taken to address it”.
“At this stage, the Ministry encouraging residents to continue to secure their waste bags in lidded bins. As an added reminder the public can take their waste and recyclables to the Tynes Bay Public Drop off which is open from 7am – 6pm Monday through Friday. On weekends, it’s open from 7am to 7pm on Saturday and from 1pm to 6pm on Sunday.”
