The work to rule implemented by unionised Waste Management employees, that saw household garbage piling up alongside of Bermuda’s streets, has been suspended.
During the past week Bermuda motoring public may have started to notice that the piles are steadily going down, as garbage collectors continue to make their rounds, amid a host of concerns, including a substantially diminished fleet due to breakdowns.
When contacted by Bermuda Real for an update this morning, on the latest status on the work to rule mode, Public Works Minister Colonel David Burch said: “Yes it has and we are continuing to work on interim solutions until the new trucks arrive to give us long-term relief.”
In the interim, garbage collectors are back on their weekly collection schedules.
