Road works at the solar farm at LF Wade International Airport “will impact traffic on Kindley Field Road” starting next week.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Public Works said the developer, Saturn Solar Development, will reopen an existing trench along Cahow Way to install another pipe linking the farm to the new airport substation.

“Most of the trench works will be along the Kindley Field Road shoulder along airport fence and the helicopter building area,” he said.

“This lane closure will take place from Friday, July 2, and possibly stretch out until July 12. The works along the shoulder will possibly commence June 28.

“Traffic controls will be under direction of D & J Excavation representatives and will be managed through traffic control crew with stop and go signs.”

Motorists were also advised that Belco will carry out trenching work near Store Hill in Smith’s starting early next month.

“These works will require a full road closure to allow for Belco’s trench work to be aligned close to the centerline of Store Hill,” he said.

“The works will commence July 7 through to August 27. Working hours will be from 7.30am to 6pm daily.

“Access will be provided to residents and emergency services only. Traffic controls will be under direction of Belco representatives and will be managed through traffic control signals and signage.”
