News Release: HAMILTON, Bermuda – The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that the BBA Winner’s Edge Time Trial Race will take place on Sunday, April 2nd, 2023, between the hours of 7:30am and 11am. The following roads will be affected to all vehicular traffic.
CYCLE RACE ROUTE
Starting at Stonington Avenue near South Road in Paget Parish, traveling west along South Road through Warwick Parish to Church Bay Park in Southampton Parish. There they will enter the Park from eastern entrance opposite Church Road and exit Park at western driveway to turn back onto South Road to travel east back to finish at Stonington Avenue in Paget Parish.
TRAFFIC CONTROL:
The bicycle race will commence on Sunday, April 2nd, 2023, at 7:30am and is expected to be concluded by 11am. All motorists are expected to use caution and avoid collision with race participants. The race route will be under Race Officials control. Motorists are asked to follow Race Officials instructions to assist with traffic control for this event.
ROAD CLOSURES:
There will be no road closures to traffic while this bicycle race takes place, motorists are asked to use caution. They must also allow cyclists to participate and give way when directed by Police and Race Officials.
PARKING:
There will be no parking restriction for this bicycle race, but motorists are permitted to park in designated parking bays along any part of the race route. Additionally, motorists must not block the race route or impede the participants in the bicycle race.
In addition, the Bermuda Police Service are hereby authorized to “Close-Off” streets or portions of streets and authorize parking as the Commissioner of Police decides.
