Members of the public were advised to be wary of fake social media accounts circulating online using the Premier’s image, seeking to defraud money from visitors on the website.

A government spokesperson said: “The fake accounts are being featured on Facebook and Instagram, and promote an investment opportunity, which seeks to defraud money from visitors to the site.

“The Bermuda Police Service has been notified.

“The Premier’s social media accounts are verified accounts. Anything other than these official platforms are fake.

“Individuals are encouraged to remain vigilant while online. Do not click the links provided. Persons should report the accounts to the platforms’ social media administrators if they encounter them.”
