The Ministry of Public Works is encouraging residents to attend a Public Information Centre to learn about the latest recommendations of the “Strategy for Sustainable Water and Wastewater Servicing St George’s Parish”.

The information forum will take place Wednesday, December 6th from 4pm to 8pm at the Penno’s Terminal Building in St George’s.

As a note, the study work plan provides for two public information centres or forums. The first was held January 18, 2017, where water and wastewater servicing concepts under evaluation were presented.

Since then, the Government has completed a review of potential impacts on the natural, social and economic environments associated with each of the water and wastewater servicing concepts and alternatives that the study has identified. The review has resulted in the selection of a preliminary preferred water and wastewater servicing alternative.

Consultation with the public, in particular, St George’s residents and businesses and other stakeholders, is crucial to the study. And interested individuals are encouraged to attend the information centre and share their feedback.

Attendees will have the opportunity to review display materials and Ministry representatives will be available to discuss the project and respond to any questions.

The Ministry of Public Works notes that the aim of the water study is to ensure the provision of a robust and reliable water and wastewater service to all residents and visitors in a way that will allow Bermuda to be recognized as a leader in sustainability.
