Project Action, the local charity that provides free transportation for Bermuda’s senior citizens and the disabled, issued a statement today, noting the passing of former MP and elder statesman Reginald Burrows, the charity’s Honourary Director.
Co-founder and Chair, Cindy Swan said tonight, the recent loss of the former long-serving Progressive Labour Party MP for Southampton East, “is being felt in many parts of Bermuda’s diverse communities”.
“We at Project Action consider it our duty to pay homage to Reg who served as our Honourary Director,” said Ms. Swan.
On behalf of Project Action’s Board of Directors she said: “We were blessed to have Reginald Burrows be associated with our charity. We at Project Action, while providing free transportation to seniors and the physically challenged, always marvelled at the contributions Reg has made to Bermuda.
“It was self evident how connected Reg Burrows was to the people of Bermuda and his Honourary Directorship with Project Action helped us immensely over the years.”
Ms Swan concluded: “We send our heartfelt appreciation and thanks to his wife, Sheila and family all for sharing Reg with us at Project Action.”
