A good time was had by all at the annual Cup Match reception hosted by Premier David Burt at Camden last evening, who welcomed both Somerset and St George’s Cricket Club’s Cup Match teams.
The Department of Communications released photos of the event this morning.
A post published on Somerset Cricket Club’s Facebook page said: “What a privilege for these future SOMERSET players to be apart of Cupmatch 2019! #Waterboys thank you @sccbermuda for the invite! 🔴🔵🔴🔵🔴🔵#handsomefellas
The 117th Annual Cup Match Classic will be played at Wellington Oval down at the east end this year on Thursday, August 1 – Emancipation Day and Friday, August 2 – Somers Day.
Now it’s countdown time to the two-day event in the battle for the cup, currently held by Somerset Cricket Club.
Meanwhile, forecasters say there’s very little rain in the forecast with partly cloudy skies predicated for both days. Temperatures will run in the upper 80’s with the humidity running in the region of 71 percent.
No rain in the forecast at this point until Sunday/Monday so it looks like the heat will be on for this annual clash down at the east end.
Here’s to a result either way and may the best team win!
