The following statement was released this afternoon (Sept 1), in follow up to a query fielded by Bermuda Real last week, from former Premier Dr Ewart Brown…
Former Premier of Bermuda, Dr Ewart F Brown announced today that he has asked his legal counsel to request that Facebook remove a picture of him endorsing a fraudulent investment scheme.
Dr Brown stated: “I have been ignoring it for months but the lawyers have urged me to take assertive steps to have it removed. I agree with them.”
The phony post shows a photo of the former premier suggesting that readers invest in what appears to be a fraudulent scheme.
The post was spotted more than a week ago by Bermuda Real, when enquiries were relaunched again.
We’ll keep you posted once the “assertive steps to have it removed” by Facebook have been officially made.
