Premier David Burt joined leaders of Overseas Territories at a Pre-Joint Ministerial Council meeting hosted by the Cayman Islands Government this week.

The session was chaired by Alden McLaughlin, the Cayman Islands Premier.

Delegates included heads of Government from the British Virgin Islands, Anguilla, Gilbraltar, the Falkland Islands, St Helena,  Montserrat, Tristan da Cunha, and the Turks and Caicos Islands.

A spokeswoman said: “The purpose of the meeting is to allow pre-discussions at the political level ahead of the annual Joint Ministerial Council meeting with the UK Government later this year in November.

“The JMC in London is the highest political forum between the UK Government and governments of the Overseas Territories.”

Premier Burt was joined by Kimberley Durrant, Bermuda’s UK representative from the London office.
