New York Daily News: David Matthews – Oh snap, this scaly serpent got busted.

A Florida sheriff’s deputy said “see ya later” when she was called to the scene of an alligator in an in-ground pool and gave the rambunctious reptile the heave-ho.

Pinellas County Sheriff’s Deputy Heather Harris “played lifeguard” at a home Saturday in St Petersburg where an alligator was splashing around in a pool. Harris took a photo showing the gator at the bottom of the pool as well as one of her holding the animal with its snout taped shut (alligator bites are very powerful).

According to the Tampa Bay Times, late spring is mating season for alligators, which likely explains why this one was out and about.

The sheriff’s office had some advice for cannonballers and divers in the Sunshine State.

“Thinking about taking a swim on a Saturday? Make sure there isn’t a gator inside the pool first!” the office wrote on Facebook.
