A 23-year-old woman involved in an early morning accident was rushed to the hospital’s Emergency Department with head and facial injuries.

Police say the serious single vehicle motorcycle accident occurred shortly after 3:30 am (April 18) on Cobbs Hill Road, near the junction with Middle Road in Warwick.

A passerby contacted police and reported having found the woman lying on the roadway, unresponsive but breathing.

“It appears the victim was riding in a northerly direction along Cobbs Hill Road, when she collided with a wall,” a spokesman said.

“She was attended to at the scene by police and EMT personnel. She was subsequently transported to Hospital where at last check, she was still receiving treatment but remained unresponsive.

“Cobbs Hiill Road is now closed off between Middle Road and Harbour Road, while the scene is being processed by Traffic Collision Investigators and officers from the Forensics Unit,” he added.

“Motorists are advised to use alternative routes to get to their destinations while this exercise continues.

“The public will be advised once the scene has been cleared and the roadway reopened.
