Police are investigating a second armed robbery on Father’s Day, this time a mother with her children – a son and daughter – were hit by crime, while walking in Blue Hole Hill Park in Hamilton Parish by a man brandishing a knife.

Police say the incident occurred around 5:30pm this evening (Sunday, June 16), the woman suffered minor injuries and her daughter was not hurt, but her son was reportedly punched in the head before the attacker ran off.

The assailant took off with the lady’s beach bag, which contained personal belongings, and it was believed he punched her son in the head before he ran off.

A police spokesman said the woman suffered minor injuries and her daughter was unhurt.

“Early information suggests that a woman and her two children were walking in the park when they were approached by an unknown man brandishing a bladed article,” he said.

“Apparently her son was punched in the head by the unknown man before he made good his escape.

The suspect was described as a caramel complexioned man about 40-years-old, who stands about 6ft 2in, with an unkempt appearance, last seen wearing army fatigues.

Police searched the area and anyone with information is urged to contact police on the main number 295-0011.
