A fatal boat crash involving three small vessels in Hamilton Harbour has claimed the life of a woman. Three men were also injured.
All four victims were rushed to the hospital’s Emergency Ward where the woman was pronounced dead.
Police confirmed that one of the boat operators has been arrested on suspicion of operating a vessel while impaired.
The accident occurred around 10:50pm in Hamilton Harbour near the Ferry Terminal. Further details were limited early this morning.
A police spokesman said: “A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned and no further information regarding the deceased will be released at this time until her next of kin has been notified.”
The three men were still receiving hospital treatment after 2am. “An update on their condition will be provided in due course,” the spokesman said.
“A full investigation is underway and any witnesses are urged to contact the Criminal Investigation Department on 247-1744.”
Ironically, police held a joint news conference on Thursday with the Bermuda Water Safety Council.
