The Bermuda Police Service confirmed today, that the 29-year-old woman arrested on Saturday night, for stabbing another male resident at the Emergency Housing facility in St David’s, has been released on police bail, pending further inquiries.

The 34-year-old male resident, who sustained stab wounds to his chest when a verbal confrontation escalated, was treated at the hospital’s Emergency Department and was subsequently released.

Meanwhile, details of what reportedly transpired are being posted on the local social media circuit as “further inquiries by the Criminal Investigation Department” continue.

Police say the incident occurred around 8:20pm on Saturday (November 23.

A spokesman said: It was also reported that the 29-year-old woman got into a scuffle with a 28-year-old St George’s woman, scratching the younger woman’s neck during the incident.

Security personnel at the premises intervened, detaining the 29 year old woman and seizing the knife until police arrived.

It is understood that the three residents involved are known to each other,” he added.

The 29-year-old woman arrested was in police custody from Saturday night, until she was released on police bail.

The spokesman stated on Sunday that “a court appearance is anticipated in due course”.
