A 33-year old woman is now fighting for her life and listed in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit of the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, following a machete attack that occurred on Cedar Hill in Warwick on Friday night.
Police today confirmed that the victim sustained multiple life threatening injuries “in an unprovoked machete attack”, that occurred around 11pm last night (June 19), in what was described as “a home invasion”.
A spokesman said: “The victim was reportedly in the yard of a private residence when she was attacked by a group of unknown individuals brandishing at least one machete.”
She was rushed to the hospital’s Emergency Department while the scene was processed by officers from the Forensics Unit..
Investigators are now appealing for anyone with information on this brutal attack against the 33–year old woman to please contact Detective Sergeant Dean Martin on 717-2074 or 247-1739.
