News Release: Hamilton, Bermuda – Two senior Bermuda Police Service (BPS) officers have been successful in their application to undertake the UK College of Policing’s prestigious Strategic Command Course (SCC).
Assistant Commissioner Antoine Daniels and Superintendent Na’imah Astwood will attend the SCC programme from January to March 2020, following the footsteps of Deputy Commissioner Darrin Simons who undertook the SCC in 2019.
Commissioner of Police Stephen Corbishley said today: “I am delighted that both Mr Daniels and Mrs Astwood will be able to attend the Strategic Command Course.
“In my opinion it is the best policing programme in the world and invests considerable learning and development to officers who have been identified to perform senior policing roles. Having done the SCC myself in 2016, alongside Deputy Commissioner of Police Darrin Simons in 2019, it provides officers access to world class leadership and command training.
“Upon appointment as Commissioner in 2018, I gave commitment to ensure investment in developing Bermudian police officers and the SCC will add further value to the leadership capabilities we have in the BPS and to assist us becoming a world class police service.
“Additionally, as part of our 7 Ambitions Change Programme, we are developing leadership training across the service for all officers and staff to reach their full potential and provide excellent service to our local communities.”
