Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding two senior citizens involved in an incident that left one of them with non-life threatening stab wounds on Sunday (August 9).

A police spokesman said a 69-year-old man was arrested after a 60-year-old man was stabbed on Union Street in Pembroke.

He was rushed to the hospital’s Emergency Department in a private car with multiple stab wounds.

“Based on information received in relation to this incident, police attended a Pembroke property to conduct enquiries and subsequently arrested a 69-year-old male who is now assisting with the investigation into this matter.

“Any member of the public who may have been in the area of Union Street, Pembroke, at around 10:00 a.m. today, Sunday, 9th August and may have witnessed two males involved in a dispute, is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Unit (CIU) on 247-1744 or, the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers number at 800-8477.”
