Police say the accident occurred around 1:15am on Somerset Road near the junction with Morgan Hill.
A spokesman said the 17-year-old male rider and his 26-year-old male passenger were travelling west when they “struck a wall at the bottom of Scaur Hill”.
“Apparently the two males involved went over the wall and fell several feet to the shoreline below – but somehow each managed to climb back up to the road despite being injured.Both males were transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance – conscious and alert – for treatment,” he said.
Traffic was reduced to one lane in the area while inquiries were carried out.

Witnesses who have not already spoken to police were asked to call 295-0011.

“At around 8:59pm, police and first responders were dispatched to a two vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a car at the junction of Middle Road and Khyber Pass in Warwick,” he added.

“Reports are that the car was traveling east on Middle Road when the driver made a right turn onto Khyber Pass and was struck by a motorcycle ridden by an 18-year-old male who was attempting to overtake another vehicle headed west on Middle Road.

“The motorcyclist sustained what were described as non life threatening injuries. He was alert at the scene and transported to hospital via ambulance for treatment of his injuries.

“Traffic was diverted over Longford Road and St. Mary’s Road as the area where the collision occurred was cordoned off while the scene was processed.”

The spokesman noted that “there were several eyewitnesses to this road traffic collision”.
