Police inquiries into a road traffic accident that landed two motorcyclists in the hospital’s Emergency Department continue with an appeal for witnesses.

The accident occurred around 5pm on Thursday (Jan 19) on Middle Road in Paget, near the RUBiS Paget service station.

A spokesman said: “Details remain limited. However, it now appears that the two motorcycles were being ridden in opposite directions along Middle Road when they collided, near the junction with Valley Road.

“Both riders, said to be a 67-year-old Warwick man and a 64-year-old Paget man, were transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of their injuries.

“At last check the two men involved remained hospitalised, but their medical conditions were understood to be non-life threatening.

“Traffic was diverted for approximately two hours while the crash scene was processed.

“Inquiries continue and any witnesses are once again asked to call 211 at the earliest opportunity.”
