The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) today confirmed that an investigation is now underway, following reports of a social event held on New Year’s Eve that was “attended by a significant number of individuals” on January 1.
According to the reports, those in attendance were “reportedly not wearing masks nor practicing social distancing”.
A police spokesman said the event was said to have taken place “at a location in Pembroke Parish”.
“Attendees were also reportedly not wearing masks nor practicing social distancing. These are all offences under the current COVID-19 regulations,” he added.
“An investigation into these reports has now commenced and while the location of the reported gathering is known, the BPS is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the organisers of this event.
“Anyone with information is asked to call 211 or the main police number, 295-0011.
“We wish to once again remind the public, current COVID-19 regulations stipulate gatherings are restricted to no more than ten people, masks must be worn during such gatherings and social distancing must be observed.”
