Police are investigating another stabbing incident that occurred shortly after 1am on Saturday night (July 3), following a report of a fight involving several individuals near the Flagpole on Front Street in the City of Hamilton.

A spokesman confirmed today that “police have arrested three persons in connection with the incident”.

“Upon arrival, persons involved in the fracas fled the scene on motorcycles and foot and were pursued by police officers,” he said.

“A 22-year-old male attended King Edward VII Memorial Hospital with a stab wound to his lower back. His injury, which was deemed non-life threatening, was treated and he was later discharged.

“Police have arrested three persons in connection with the incident,” he added.

“The scene of the stabbing was forensically processed and the matter is now being investigated by officers from the Criminal Investigations Unit.
