A 16-year-old teenager was rushed to the hospital’s Emergency Department with multiple injuries following a two-vehicle accident along Greys Bridge in Sandys on Christmas Eve (Dec 24).

Police say the accident, involving an auxiliary cycle and a light van, occurred around 7:30pm.

A spokeswoman said: “Initial information suggests that the vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when the collision occurred.

“The 16-year-old male cyclist received multiple injuries and was taken to King Edward Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of his injuries.

“The male driver of the van was not reported to be injured.”

Motorists encountered traffic delays while police processed the scene.
