Police today confirmed the arrest of a 29-year-old man in connection with the firearm incident that occurred shortly after 6pm on Mother’s Day in the Court Street area.

A spokesman said: “A search warrant executed Monday evening in the King Street, Pembroke area – part of a proactive police investigation into the matter – led to the suspect being apprehended without incident. He remains in police custody and a file will be prepared for consideration by the DPP.”

The victim, a 34-year-old man, reportedly sustained a superficial gunshot wound to his leg during a confrontation that occurred in broad daylight. He reported the incident to police, who arrested the suspect the day after the shooting.
