Police and ambulance personnel responded to a reported sudden death at a private residence on Cheriton Lane in Pembroke around 8:55pm last night.

A spokesman said: “On arrival CPR was being performed on a 52-year-old woman by a relative, with police and Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel joining in the lifesaving efforts – which continued as she was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance.

Sadly, the woman was later pronounced dead at the hospital. No further information regarding the deceased will be provided at this time, pending next of kin notification,” he said.

There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a cause of death is being examined.”
