Another road traffic fatality within a matter of weeks, has claimed the life of an 18-year-old male motorcyclist, following a two-vehicle collision with a car.

Police say the accident occurred around 9:24am Sunday morning (November 8) on Somerset Road, in the area of Morgan’s Hill in Sandys.

A spokesman said: “Officers and other first responders attended the scene where they found an 18-year-old male motorcycle rider, who had suffered a serious head injury and was unresponsive.

“He was transported via ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead by a medical doctor.

“Both vehicles were extensively damaged, however, female driver of the car was not injured in the collision.

“The incident resulted in major traffic delays as the roadway way was closed off while Traffic Collision Investigators and officers from the Forensic Support Unit processed the scene.
