Three men, all believed to be in their 20s are in police custody tonight in a police raid that netted a firearm, ammunition and drugs at a private residence on Curving Avenue in Pembroke.

As first reported by TNN, the raid involved a number of police agencies.

Detective Sgt Jason Smith said officers from various units executed a warrant.

During that raid he confirmed that police found a firearm, ammunition and what is believed to be narcotics.

“Those items have been seized by police and our investigations are continuing to explore further.

“Three men have been arrested in connection with this incident and are currently in police custody.”

Asked by TNNs Trevor Lindsay, if he was able to disclose whether or not the firearm seized had been used in any other incidents, including the most recent shooting incident, Mr Smith replied: “I cannot disclose that at this time.

“It is still early in the investigation, it is in a preliminary stage. But obviously as the investigation progresses and more information, intelligence and leads come up, then we will pursue those lines of inquiry.”

Police executed another warrant at a residence in St George’s earlier. on what is commonly referred to as Wellington back road.

Two men were arrested for questioning. More details on the outcome of the search are pending.
