A 44-year-old Warwick man who struck a pillar in a single vehicle road traffic accident on Saturday night was arrested by police on suspicion of riding while impaired, after he was hospitalised.
Police say the accident occurred around 8:45pm Saturday (December 14) on Blue Hole Hill in Hamilton Parish, near the entrance to Grotto Bay Beach Resort.
A police spokesman said: “The injured rider was assisted at the crash site by Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service personnel before being transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. At last check he had been admitted to a general ward.
“The 44-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and placed on police bail.
“There were traffic delays in the area while the relevant police personnel processed the scene.
