The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) officially released the names of the man and woman who tragically died in two separate road traffic fatalities at the weekend on Tuesday (Mar 29).

Wayne Augustus, 51, sadly lost his life in an early morning single vehicle motorcycle crash on South Road, near Church Bay in Southampton on Saturday.

Hannah Jimenez-Flood, 42, was succumbed to serious injuries sustained in another single vehicle car crash on Beacon Hill in Sandys on Friday night.

A BPS spokesperson said the tragic death of Mr Augustus marked the island’s third fatality for 2022.

“Despite lifesaving efforts at the scene, which continued as he was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, Mr Augustus later succumbed to his injuries.

“A BPS Family Liaison Officer is providing support to loved ones of the deceased at this time.

“Constable Garwin Phillips is continuing to investigate the circumstances of this fatal crash and members of the public with any relevant information are once again asked to call 211 or the main police number 295-0011. Constable Phillips can also be reached via his email at [email protected]

Ms Jimenez-Flood’s death marked the second fatality this year.

She “was seriously injured in a single vehicle car crash on Beacon Hill Road, Sandys parish around 10:35pm Friday, March 25th”.

“Despite lifesaving efforts at the scene, which continued as she was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, Ms Jimenez-Flood later succumbed to her injuries,” the spokesman said.

“A BPS Family Liaison Officer is providing support to loved ones of the deceased at this time.

“Constable Denise Taylor is continuing to investigate the circumstances of this fatal crash and members of the public with any relevant information are once again asked to call 211 or the main police number 295-0011. Constable Taylor can also be reached via her e-mail [email protected]

The BPS also extended sincere condolences to the family and friends of both victims.
